I’m going to brag on my daughter for a few minutes. She is a teenager with no formal training.
Let me say that again…no formal art training.
She has taken on this project for her bible teacher to paint a scene depicting portions of the book of Revelation.
For the first time, I have had to joy of seeing her work because the project is home right now, in our formal dining room, during spring break.
She still has a LOT to do, but I am blown away daily at her ability.
She has been working on the four horses, the shield, and last night she penciled in the face of the horseman on the gray horse of death.
This morning I woke up to this.
I don’t even know how she does this. I can’t even imagine how incredible this will be when she is finished!
I’m beginning to get a little salty that we will not be keeping this project!
The horses are bursting out of an open scroll, the 7 seals are split, there’s an angry sky and the earth is on the bottom left as well. And there is a lot of white space which will reveal more surprises as she keeps painting.
I’m just so proud of how hard she’s working on this and I can’t help but wonder if we should be researching art colleges.
She would rather I don’t interrupt her for pictures, but these are memories that must be preserved!!
PS, this is her first experience with oil paints!
